2005 Annual Awards

At long last the Scandinavian Awards returned in a ceremony at Oslo, Norway.

With the cream of Scandinavia's boxing present, it seemed nothing could spoil the mood, even though some unofficial rematches between guests were interrupted by the police later in the evening.

The first award was handed out by Gonn Orta 'The Giant'.
"Ladies and gentlemen" he boomed, "the first award goes for the Smacktalker of the Year. The Committee wishes to point out that this year's smack was almost non-existent, which is a shame for the whole region. Shape up people! The award goes to a gym that has neither asked nor shown mercy in the press, and who has also been more active a smacker than any of you bums present here tonight."

After a meaningful pause, Orta ripped the envelope open, and proclaimed that the award goes to MOFFA IS LORD!

Next up was the awards for the Up'n'Commers of the year. The trophy was presented by Peter Banger of the Holbaek Gym.

"The bronze award for the Up'n'Commer of the Year goes to GYM GRAVERSEN, the silver trophy to HALVIS PUNCHIES, and the golden award goes to FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS!"

Next up, a lanky figure appeared on the stand- it was the former drag queen and two-time Scandinavian champion, Half-Elf. "Good evening ladies" he uttered, "These are the 2005 Annual Awards for the best fighters of the year."

"The bronze award goes to GORDON OLDSKOOL, a 6-time World Champion representing Flat Out, the silvery award to LA LA LAAA TUFFA LEGO BIL, a 8-time World Champion of Flex Johnny, and the highest recognition is hereby awarded to CHAD OLDSKOOL, a true champion with no less than 13 World Titles!"

Kpt. Xig raised a few eyebrows as he took the stand in his glittering spacesuit to present the awards for the best gyms of the year.

"The bronze award goes to the fabulous FLEX JOHNNY, the silver award to the mighty ROTMO, and the gym of the year 2005 is the one and only FLAT OUT!"

Finally, the HoC stepped up to present the final award. "Last but not least, the Committee wishes to grant a special Honorary Award to recognize a great manager, whose tireless efforts towards our community are unparalleled. May his Viking Horns stay stiff forever! This award goes to PITYPART!"

And so was the formal ceremony ended, as the stampede towards the bar started.
